Where we work

Learning Dreams works in homes to foster support and love of learning and in communities to strengthen learning networks. Seeking to improve learning outcomes, we work in tandem with schools and the wider learning community to create a holistic relationship between students, families and educational opportunities.
Southeast and South Minneapolis location
Our flagship pilot program, located in South and Southeast Minneapolis, has worked with thousands of students and families as well as community institutions to help foster a love of education and learning.
Now in its second decade, Learning Dreams is an integral part of the learning system both in and outside the community. Key partners have included Pratt, Marcy and Tuttle Elementary Schools.
More than 150 community institutions, businesses and partners work with our families in creative and sometimes non-traditional ways to involve them in new learning activities. From offering free guitar lessons to teaching sewing, enrolling in job training courses, to going back to school and teaching English to new U.S. citizens, Learning Dreams makes the connections between organizations and people in order to help realize dreams.
St. Paul location
In fall 2010, Learning Dreams began working with Cherokee Heights Elementary School in St. Paul's West Side, which currently serves over 500 students in Pre-K through 6th grade. The poverty level at the school is high, with 94 percent of the students receiving free and reduced lunch.
In order to meet the state's Adequate Yearly Progress Goals, St. Paul Public Schools believes
a partnership with Learning Dreams will dramatically enhance parent involvement, significantly boost parent and student participation in learning, and therefore, lead to improved student outcomes.
Our partnership with St. Paul Public Schools and Cherokee Heights Elementary School will be the most significant replication of Learning Dreams to date.
